Three ways to remove text
1. Delete a line
With the Edit text tool, click the line and clear it, or press the bin button in the format bar. The line disappears and the space it occupied is repainted in the page's own background colour, sampled from that exact spot — so it matches a tinted table row or a coloured header as well as plain white.
2. Blank an area
The Erase tool draws a rectangle over anything — text, a logo, a signature, part of a photo. It too samples the surrounding colour, so the patch blends in rather than leaving an obvious white block.
3. Remove it permanently
The first two methods cover text up. That is normal for PDF editing and it is what every patch-based editor does, but it is worth understanding: the original words are still physically present in the file underneath the patch, and text-extraction tools can pull them back out.
If the text is confidential, a rectangle over it is not enough. Use Flatten when you save. Each page is re-rendered as an image, so the file contains only what you can see and the hidden text is genuinely gone. The trade-off is that the result is no longer selectable or searchable. Removing text from every page at once
Press Ctrl+F, type the phrase you want gone, leave the replacement box empty and
press Replace all. Every matching line across the document is cleared in one go — handy for a draft
marking, an old address or a discontinued product code.
Removing whole pages
Open the page panel on the left and press the bin icon on any thumbnail. The page is dropped from the saved file, and pressing it again brings the page back, so nothing is lost until you save.
Questions
Does deleting text leave a white gap?
It leaves the page background, whatever that is. The colour is sampled from the pixels immediately around the text, so a patch on a grey table row comes out grey rather than white.
Is the deleted text really gone from the file?
With a normal save, no — it is covered but still present, and extraction tools can recover it. With Flatten, yes: the page becomes an image and nothing remains underneath.
Can I undo a deletion?
Press Ctrl+Z. There is a full undo history, and the revert button in the format bar restores an individual line to its original wording.
Can I remove a watermark?
If the watermark is text, click it with the Edit tool and clear it, exactly like any other line. If it is an image or a vector drawing, cover it with the erase tool and flatten on save.
